I Need To Get Fit! No More Procrastinating!

Yes, I need to get fit.  I have a Duran Duran concert in July and class reunion in August.  More than likely I will be going to the DD concert with my friend Paula.  That means we will probably get backstage and I want to look good for my boys.

This would be my first class reunion.  I haven’t seen most of my classmates (outside of Facebook pics)  since the 80s.  I want to look great.

The first step to get fit is getting out! Now that the weather is finally getting better, I plan on doing more walking and maybe some jogging.  I also have dozens of fitness DVDs that have been collecting dust, because most of my workouts have been online.

Years ago I did a different DVD every day challenge.  It was called 30 Day No Repeat. You can see the first week’s schedule here. I’m going to be doing that again.  I will be doing the exact same schedule.

Get Fit

In my recent post I Didn’t Worry About Gaining Weight During My Vacation, I talked about how much walking we did during our vacation.  I experienced a lot of pain in my legs every day.  Recently I started taking Omega-3s to combat that pain.  I have read that Omega-3s are essential for my heart health, but they are also great for reducing inflammation and joint pain.

One of my favorite fitness gurus PJ Wren also included Omega-3 as one of the best vitamins you can take.  Read her post here.

I’m taking flaxseed oil capsules, eating more fish (more sushi)  and adding flaxseed to my food.  I have less leg pain and I don’t get stiff after sitting for a while.  So, I will be keeping Omega-3s in my diet permanently.

The Last Day in May

My favorite picture I took in May and it’s also one of my favorite things about the old house. I will miss this beautiful chandelier.

It’s the last day in May.  The year is almost half over. Can you believe it?!  Not much new to report.  Busy packing and moving things to the new house slowly.  The big move will be later in June.  Nervous and excited about it,  Hoping to live in this new house for at least 10 years.  The longest we ever lived in one place was four years.  

So last week I did post a couple of things to my Facebook page.  I received a package contain Subtle Green’s Vienne moisturizer.  I will be trying that out for a few weeks before my review.  You can find out more about Subtle Green’s products by visiting their website here.

Former Go Fit Gal PJ posted a tough Tank Top arms workout.  Sleeveless season is here.  It’s still not too late to get those arms toned.  Check out the workout here.

I’m still doing the FBabs program. Every time we move I find clothing that I haven’t tried on in years.  About four weeks ago I tried on a pair of pants and a dress that were both snug around the waist.  I tried them on again last week and they were less snug. Pleased with the progress.  I will do another round of FBabs along with BodyRockTV’s Fat Burn Challenge.  You can sign up for the challenge here. You know I love a good challenge!

Recipe of the Week: Snickerdoodle Protein Shake! Yes, I made this and was satisfied with the taste.  It did remind me of a snickerdoodle.  So I will be making it again.  You can find the recipe here.

This Week In BFH: The What Happened to Spring? Edition

Well it’s supposed to be spring but it doesn’t feel like
it.  Winter still has its grip on us. The week before I was wearing just a jacket outside. This week I had to break out the winter coats and hats. We checked the weather before leaving for our trip to Montreal last weekend. I believe it was 20 degrees colder than Accuweather predicted.  I know warm weather will be here eventually.  I just needed a bit of a whine.

This week in Beauty, Fitness and health 

I received some sad news this week. The Go Fit Gals will be
ending their partnership. So I will no longer be a GFG Ambassador. Even though
they are ending their partnership Risse will continue to be a nutritionist and
I’m sure I will continue to post her recipes. 
PJ is still a trainer that I will follow. I’ve removed almost everything GFG Ambassador  from my
websites and changed my Twitter name from GFGKelly to CravinChocolate. Because
I’m always craving chocolate.

I’ve been very busy,
but loving it.  I completed two reviews
for the blog this week.  The first review was of
the Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes with T-Tapp book.  I enjoyed reading the book and was very
inspired by the success stories.  You can

The second review was for ERA Ageless skin care.  I had never heard of this brand until a
few weeks ago.  The products were
great.  The best part of this skin care
brand is that they formulate the products for specific areas of the face. Read

This is one of my faves from the Go Fit Gals.
It’s called Avocado Baked Egg. I love pairing avocados and eggs.  Tons of protein and healthy fats.  Keeps me full for hours!  Recipe right here.

I Need More Time!

I need more time

This week in Beauty, Fitness and Health has gone by too fast for me! I need more time in the day!  I’m packing for our move to the new house, started Social Media Marketing School, reviewing products and to top it all off, I’m a mom! Just being a mom I’m crazy busy anyway. 

This week I reviewed another amazing OZ Naturals product.  The Vitamin C Serum has added a glow to my skin that I didn’t think was possible. Check out the review here. Stay tuned for more reviews of OZ Naturals products!

My Workouts: This week I did a lot of walking because the weather here in Toronto has been great!  I’ve also stepped up my workouts. I’m still doing T-Tapp a few days a week along with the Do You Yoga Beginners workouts, but I’m also getting my sweat on.  Here are a couple of my favorites from the week.

This Week In Beauty, Fitness & Health: February 2-6, 2015

This week I read some interesting articles including one on
how to sculpt muscles faster. I’ve been trying to do more strength training and
vary my weights. I’m such a cardio junkie. I did manage to get two strength
training workouts in this week. Yay me!

This article on how to stop the after dinner cravings had
some great tips. I’ve been increasing my protein intake and drinking tea in the
evening. A couple of other things that work for me are brushing my teeth and
living in a three story house. After climbing those stairs all day, I don’t
want to go down anymore. Not even for a piece of cake! LOL  

Another great article on how artificial sweeteners are evil.
Artificial sweeteners are in so many products nowadays. It’s difficult to keep
them out of your diet and they can cause weight gain. Check out the article

Getting ready to spring ahead with some rosy lipstick
shades. You can see the lovely shades here. I’m going hunting for a couple of
them soon! Also one of my favorite beauty bloggers Afrobella just released
her 2015 Beauty and Health Trends Forcast.

Beyonce has done it again and is starting a vegan food delivery service. It’s plant-based and I’m really curious about it.  For the 22 day plan it’s about 99.00. Not a
bad price.

I’m still using the Derma Roller and really excited about
writing the review. Began the Do You Yoga 30 Day Meditation Challenge. Every
time I complete a meditation I post it to my Facebook page. Let me know if you’re
doing it too! I also started the Belly Burn Challenge.I receive a belly burn workout every other day along with diet tips. 

Recipe of the week is the one from PJ one half of the Go Fit Gals. It’s a pretty simple recipe. Just roasted vegetables, Parmesan cheese and baked tofu. Here’s the pic and very easy recipe here

of years ago and you can find that review here. Tough workout, but I’m
definitely stronger and have more endurance than I had five years ago.

This Week in Beauty, Fitness & Health…Oh My!: January 26-30, 2015

This week we learned about nutrition during peri-menopause and menopause via a Go Fit Gals webinar. They discussed specific foods you should eat, also to stay away from and supplements that can help with menopausal symptoms. The full webinar can be seen here.

I also read a great article on the most powerful superfoods. Included in the article are some delicious recipes.  Also read about Vegan Beauty Tips. Just in time for the extreme winter weather. This week I blogged about my favorite oils. You can read the blog post here.

Started using the Derma Roller and so far I’m pleased with the results.  I want to use it about 4 times a week.  I plan to reveal the results in a couple of weeks in a blog post review.

Gettin’ Lean In 2014 Update: Week 2

This was my first full week back with my clean eating diet and workout schedule.  It was a good week.  Not a perfect week, but I can’t be down on myself.  I did work out every day, but once again I didn’t eat as clean as I wanted to. So, it’s a new week and I start again.

I managed to get through the 7 days of the 10 day Yoga challenge.  I will try to finish that this week.

Happy New Year From Beauty, Fitness & Health…Oh My!

This has been a great fitness year for me!  I have gotten leaner and stronger.  I’m still not where I want to be, but I’m a lot closer than I was at the end of last year.  I haven’t gained anything this holiday season.  It’s a Christmas miracle! I’m going to continue with the things I did in 2013.  Training dirty and eating clean (most of the time). For me eating clean 100% of the time isn’t realistic.  I’m more of an eating clean 80% of the time.  I would like to try to bump it up to 90% of the time.

Here’s my dilemma, there are so many things I want to do at the start of 2014 it’s making my head spin.  I know with my diet I will follow the Go Fit Gals clean eating plan, but for fitness there are so many choices!  Firstly, my gals the Go Fit Gals are doing the Flat Belly Bootcamp.  This will be the 3rd round of their GFGBootcamp.  The 1st two rounds were very successful.  You could lose at least 10 pounds in 21 days with the combination of great workouts and an easy to follow clean eating plan! Check out the other programs here! You can’t go wrong with any of them!

Then is doing another round of their 8 Week Fat Loss Program.  I’ve done rounds 2 & 3 and really liked them.  They also have 4 week versions too!

BodyRockTV is starting  another 30 Day Challenge program.  I just finished their Real Time 30 Day Challenge.  It was really tough but effective.

JessicaSmithTV has a 4 Week Weight Loss Challenge. Many of her workouts are short and fun.

Finally Mamavation is doing another 2 Week Challenge.I’ve already signed up for this one and will do it with another fitness plan since it’s only two weeks.

This year I did exclusively internet workouts.  I feel like I’ve neglected my massive DVD fitness collection.  I will try to incorporate some of these workouts this year.

Gettin’ Lean In 2013 Year End Update

Wow, I was just looking through my posts. I haven’t posted an update since October! Well, I have been busy volunteering and taking care of the kids. Also getting ready for the holidays. Another reason I haven’t updated is that I was sick with what I thought was stomach flu, turned out to be a really bad reaction to spirulina two weeks in a row. I was spending a lot of time between the bathroom and the bed.  Much better now.  Will never eat anything that contains spirulina ever again.

As for my diet I have been living by the 80/20 rule. I would love to eat clean all of the time, but that’s not realistic for me especially living with the kids and my husband. I try to limit my splurging to a few times a week. Working out is always the easiest thing for me to do. I average about 6 times a week. I’m happy with the progress I made this year. I’m not as lean as I wanted to be by the end of the year, but I am smaller than I was at the beginning of the year. I’m feeling stronger and some areas look tighter. I weigh more, but I’m ok with that because I know I’m building muscle. 

I will post what I plan to do next year by the end of this month. I just wanted to post a quick update. I have been doing Go Fit Gals, Jessica Smith and workouts for the past two months. Recently I have been doing this 30 day challenge from the Daily HIIT.

Favorite To Go Workouts

Taking a break from Gettin’ Lean In 2013 for the summer.  I just want to focus on continuing to eat healthy, working out and maintaining my weight. I want to talk about some of my favorite ways to work out via the internet.  Or what I like to call To Go Workouts!

The Summer travel season is here!  Sometimes it can be difficult keeping up a workout routine.  I will be in Chicago for at least 3 weeks.  Last year I was in Chicago for several weeks and took many workout DVDs with me.

This year it’s going to be different.  If you have been following my blog you know I workout daily.  To miss a workout or to stop a workout routine while on a long vacation is a no no.

I have been using the internet for my workouts a lot this year.  I kind of feel bad that many of my workout DVDs are collecting dust.The workouts I’ve been doing have mostly come from and the Go Fit Gals. have hundreds of workouts on their website and Youtube.  All of the videos are free.  The only thing you pay for with Fitness Blender are the 8 Week Fat Loss Programs.  And they are very reasonably priced.  A lot of the workouts use only your bodyweight.  So no equipment needed.  Check out their Tank Top Arms Round 2

The Go Fit Gals have great workout and healthy eating plans.  You know I’m a big fan. And now I am a Go Fit Gals Ambassador!  They also have a Youtube channel and have new workouts posted weekly.  Usually on Workout Wednesdays. If you become a member by buying one of their plans you also receive PDFs of the plan so you can just print it out and go.  Their workouts require very little equipment.  They even have a workout you can do outdoors.  Opt For Outdoors For Your Workout has hundreds of  workout videos you can stream for 9.95 a month. You can also sign up for a ten day free trial. has Yoga workouts on their website and Youtube.  I really enjoyed the 30 Day Challenge.  The videos are still available hereRenewed Fitness also has free workouts on YouTube.  I completed one round of her Summer Body Series.  My favorite workout from that series is here.   The workouts are quick and use very little equipment. Another new favorite is Hang Tight With MarC.  Her workouts are available on her website and Youtube and they are free.  She also has healthy eating tips and challenges.  One of my favorite workouts is the 20 Minute Ultimate Fat Burning Workout.   And finally JessicaSmithTV.  She has weekly classes on Youtube and at  Jessica Smith has quite a few indoor walking and jogging workouts.  Which for me is great because I can’t always get out for a walk or jog in rainy Vancouver.
