Summer is almost here and that means spending more time socializing with others. I want my skin to look it’s absolute best. Sometimes your skin needs a good detox. Especially after a very harsh winter. That’s why I was excited to try Newport Skinny Tea’s Malibu Beach Beauty Tea.
I was given a sample of the tea from Newport Skinny Tea to try for a couple of weeks. Malibu Beach Beauty Tea helps to stimulate the skin and detox your system. It can balance hormones that cause break outs and stimulate the production of collagen with an herb called gotu kola.
I drink two cups of Malibu Beach Beauty Tea a day. I have notice that my skin is smoother and clearer. The tea has a pleasant taste and I don’t add any sweetener to it. I would drink a cup in the morning and one before bed.
Instructions: Steep 1 Tbsp of tea per 1 cup of boiling water for 3 minutes, adjust strength as needed.
I can recommend Malibu Beach Beauty Tea and will continue to drink it. It helps to keep my skin smooth and clear. Also, because I’m going through peri-menopause, it helps to regulate my hormones. I have noticed that my peri-menopause symptoms have disappeared.

I’m sure like me you’ve tried many skin care products to revive dull skin. Some have worked and some have not. I have a ton of skin care products on my dresser and in my bathroom cabinet. So when I was asked to try Xtend-Lifeproducts I was excited, but wondered will these products end up cluttering up my bathroom cabinet with the rest of them.
I am going to be honest with you, I had never heard of Xtend-Life until recently.
While trying to write this blog post, I was overwhelmed by the amount of raw and natural ingredients in the products. If I highlighted them all, this blog post would be pages long. I am extremely impressed with the quality of these skin care products. Let me tell you a little about them.
First, I want to tell you why Xtend-Life skin care products are different than others I have tried.
Xtend-Life spares no expense finding natural and raw ingredients for their products. Their products are free of contaminants and they have an extensive supplement ingredients list on their website. Xtend-life truly believes that you can obtain beautiful skin from inside and out.
I used the Foaming Facial Cleanser every morning and night for two weeks. The cleanser wasn’t irritating at all. The foam was smoothing and I looked forward to cleansing my skin every day. It rinsed easily from my skin and didn’t leave a film.
Key Ingredients (from the website)
1. Manuka honey– This New Zealand honey is a natural moisturizer and antioxidant. Dense in nutrients, it nourishes your skin with vitamins, minerals and protein, helping to support collagen and elastin while helping to relieve skin irritations.
2.OxiFend® Kiwifruit Extract – This extract is packed with antioxidants, especially vitamin C, which helps support collagen, one of the most important proteins for youthful-looking skin. It also works to maintain the skin’s natural pH.
I love that it’s one cream you can use for day and night. The cream is light, doesn’t feel heavy or sticky. It helps to relieve inflammation, boost collagen and elastin and also protect the skin from free radicals. One of the key ingredients is Kanapa™ which was developed by the scientists at Xtend-Life to support healthy skin and reduce the signs of skin aging.
I used it two times a week. The granules are very small, almost like sand. After using it my skin looked and felt smoother. My skin is also more even and has a glow. The scrub contains apple exfoliating peel, grapeseed extract, kiwi fruit extract and Rhyolite Lava a mineral-rich volcano pumice that buffs to revive dull skin without scarring.
Zupafood for SKIN helps to increase hydration, reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also protects against harsh weather (which is something we are experiencing now in Toronto) and lift sagging skin. The powder tastes ok. It kind of reminds me of strawberries. You have to make sure to put it in a blender or shaker. Just stirring it doesn’t mix it very well. I drank it once a day.
I am very happy to have tried these products from Xtend-Life. I am very impressed with the quality and the effort they take to acquire the best ingredients. My skin has been revived with Xtend-Life!
My skin hasn’t looked this good in a long time! I’m very camera-shy usually, but I had to show you the results! I just took a quick picture with natural lighting and no makeup, only lipstick.
Have you tried any of Xtend-Life’s products?! Let me know in the comments section below!

The ingredients are all natural. Notice the first ingredient is aqua or water. My bottle has an expiry date of December 2015. The dark colored glass bottle helps to preserve the lotion and limit its exposure to light.

Caffeine, specifically coffee is part of my daily life. I drink 2-3 cups a
day. It relaxes me, curbs my appetite and keeps me sane. This past year I have
been dealing with acne on my face. I never had problems with my skin until
recently. I know it is one of the symptoms of peri-menopause,
but I’ve tried so many things to get rid of them and nothing had worked.
The only times I have given up caffeine was when I was
pregnant. During both pregnancies I couldn’t stand the smell or taste of coffee for the first three
months because of morning sickness. So that made giving up coffee easier. When
I was ready to have coffee after the first trimester I drank decaf because I
read that caffeine wasn’t good for the baby.
Drinking too much caffeine can cause acid buildup
I wrote a blog post last week Hormones, Acne & Peri-menopause…Oh My! The blog post contained a podcast from the Go Fit Gals and a video
from The Lodown. Both of them contained information about hormone imbalance.
Dr.Terry in The Lodown video is an Integrative Cosmetic Skin Doctor. She
looks at skin care from the inside out by examining the person’s gut health along with lifestyle and how it affects the
skin. Hormonal imbalance. inflammation and caffeine can cause buildup of acid. She also
mentioned sugar, but me giving up sugar would be another blog post. She suggested having lemon and water in the
morning or green juice. The juice can have kale or broccoli to help balance
your diet and make it more alkaline. You
can watch the video here.
Caffeine can increase your stress hormones.
Dr, McGee in the Go Fit Gals podcast explained that as we
age estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone aren’t being made as much because the
ovaries are shrinking. As we age the adrenal glands are supposed to take over
to produce the hormones. But if you are
under too much stress, the stress hormones like cortisol increases instead. She
also talks about how to test for hormone imbalance and what we can do to
regulate them. In the back of my mind I
knew my beloved caffeine might have something to do with my acne, but I didn’t
want to believe it. You can listen to the podcast here.
I will no longer drink caffeinated drinks on a daily basis. I’ve already noticed my skin getting a bit
clearer. I don’t have the terrible
afternoon breakouts anymore.
I would love to hear about you thoughts. Please leave your comments below.
