|Spring is almost here!|
Well, this week went by like a flash! And I’m not just talking hot flashes! I’ve been dealing with some peri-menopause symptoms that are kicking my arse. So I’m going to the doctor on Tuesday. Dealing with the peri-menopause and the kids this week took up a lot of my time, but I was able to find some interesting things this week.
Speaking of menopause, the Go Fit Gals blogged about how to deal with stress during menopause. Included in the post are some great tips including some breathing exercises. You can read the entire post here.
Sugar is the devil! Yes it is! This article 12 Tips For Quitting Sugar from Today’s Mama was a good one, Actually She gave us 16 tips, but who’s counting. My favorite was to stay off of Pinterest! A great way to satisfy your sweet tooth is to eat dates. The turmeric milk I drink in the evenings has dates in the recipe and I’m usually satisfied after that and don’t have any cravings. Dates also are good for anemia, strengthen teeth and increasing energy. Here’s more recipes using dates via Huffpost Taste. The No Churn Vegan Chocolate Ice Cream by the Minimalist Baker is one I’m going to make soon!
The only workouts I’m doing for the next two weeks are the ones from the Yoga Shred Challenge. The instructor Sadie recommended that we only do these workouts because to do more would interfere with the results. So far the workouts have been short, but challenging. I did go for a long walk yesterday! The weather here in Toronto is finally getting better. Next week every day will be above freezing! Woo & hoo!
Recipe of the Week: Slow Cooker Lentil Shepherd’s Pie from The Muffin Myth. It was easy to make and delicious. A very hearty dish for a cold night. This is one I will definitely make again.
