This week went by very quickly. I’m tired of winter. Can we have spring now?! I attended a great interactive webinar by the Go Fit Gals. The webinar was about Fitness and Menopause. Lots of useful information in this webinar. You can view it below:
Speaking of menopause, I’m in peri-menopause right now and I’m all about getting rid of my belly. There was an article this week about burning more belly fat while on a run. Of course they mention intervals. That’s really the only way I do cardio now. It’s either HIIT or Tabata for me. Read the article here to find more tips.
I’m not the only one using serums now. Serums seem to be all the rage in skin care. This article Does Your Skin Need A Serum? lists some of the best serums, the benefits and how to use them. I’m using a product from Palmer’s right now that I really like. It has Retinol, Vitamin E and Vitamin C.
I started a detox this week. I found this detox on Jovanka Ciares Facebook page. It’s a 3 day winter detox. I thought I would give it a try. The first day went great. The next morning I could barely function. After I took the kids to school, I basically just stayed on the couch for several hours. I was nauseous, my eyes were watery and my head felt like it was going to explode.
The only detox I have completed successfully was the Go Fit Gals 3 Day Reset I would feel great the first day. Second day in the morning I would feel like I had the flu, but by the afternoon I would feel fine. Check out the results from when I completed the 3 Day Reset for the first time here. That didn’t happen with the Jovanka Ciares detox. So in order to be able to get off the couch and pick up the kids from school, I had to cut it short. I felt bad about not completing it, but I didn’t expect my body to react in that way.
I did notice some good things after the detox. My belly was flatter and I didn’t have any bloating.
Another week where I didn’t work out as much as I would have liked. I did work out tho;-) I did a couple of the workouts from the Belly Burn Challenge and continued with the Meditation Challenge. Here are my top 3 workouts this week:

Recipe of the week is from Jovanka Ciares. It’s a Turmeric Drink. Great for these cold evenings. It has anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. It’s also delicious. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It also satisfied my sweet tooth or teeth;-) You can find the recipe here. I added a couple more dates than the recipe called for because the ones I had were kind of small and I added some vanilla.
